Vintage Farmhouse Kitchen Inspiration
Jan 3rd 2018
Caught the farmhouse kitchen bug? We have too. There’s something so inviting about the colors and finishes, it makes you want to pour a cup of tea and stay a while.
There are many different ways to achieve the farmhouse kitchen look: open shelving, galvanized metal accents, hardwood floors, a farmhouse sink… the list could go on and on.
Being the tile nerds that we are, one element that we immediately fell in love with is a black patterned backsplash. This is an easy way to add a vintage look to a farmhouse kitchen, and it creates a stunning focal point at the same time. To illustrate this idea, we chose one of our favorite handmade tile colorways:

Incorporating the Slate Gray glaze softens the contrast between the Black Watercolor color and the white grout.

An added point of interest to this glaze pairing is the difference in finish between the two colors. The Slate Gray glaze has a simple satin finish and the Black Watercolor glaze has a high-gloss, translucent property. It’s a subtle contrast but lovely when the light hits it just right.
